The NGO Hold my Hand offers help for self-help:
We support the sustainable development and strengthening of the population of Loita/Kenya, especially the village of Osinantei.
We focus on and implement projects that serve school education.
Our projects are created based on ideas from the local population. Together we develop the ideas further and ensure initial financing.
We combine school support with solidarity agriculture projects:
By actively cultivating the land in solidarity, parents collectively make a profit from the harvest, which they then use to finance their children's school fees.
As soon as the implementation of the projects is completed and support is no longer required, the parents will carry out all projects on their own responsibility.
Hold my Hand then turns to other schools where school education projects require initial funding.
In our work, we rely on basic values that are firmly anchored in the local population: community and solidarity.
The Osinantei primary school is the focus of our projects:
School children receive a midday lunch, and through joint farming and honey production, we offer parents help to help themselves so that they can pay school fees for their children.
We occasionally support needy children and young people to enable them to receive vocational training.
Our vision: Children and young people should receive a sound school education regardless of their origin, gender or disabilities.
